![]() In an interview, Anno himself stated that End of Evangelion was actually the original ending they had in mind, before they ran out of money. Having looked a little closer, I think that EoE was only partially made as retribution for the rather absurd amount of hate that the original ending got (although quite frankly I think that Anno was well within his rights to be pissed off, and whilst it is a horrific nigtmare and wuite possibly the most disturbing film of all time, and a little unprofessional, it was also a truly GLORIOUS jab). It whats makes the show so intriguing, in my opinion. I am well aware of Anno's depression, and the fact that he may have based Shinji off of himself. Still doesn't excuse what happened in EoE. Look at Madoka Kaname and her personality and compare it to Shinji. The other really interesting thing about Shinji is that he is actually a gender flip of the stereotypical futile moe female character who is afraid of everything. Still, I may he the only person in the universe that actually likes Shinji and thinks he's a really original protagonist. Incidentally, Anno actually based Shinji off of himself. It also doesn't help that the poor guy was suffering from absolutely crippling depression. ![]() Basically "Still think the original ending is bad? *trollface*". I guess he read all the "OMG THE ENDING IS THE SUXXORZ!!!!" comments, and responded to the torrent of angry keyboard clattering with the most trollerific, disturbing ending he could. Squigsquasher wrote: This is because, as much as I admire the man, Hideaki Anno is a massive, massive troll. Don't get me wrong, Spike did a good job voicing Shinji, but it did sound slightly whiny, and it couldn't compare to Megumi Ogata's absolutely spectacular performance. I must admit that I can partially undesrstand the "Shinji is a whiny little bitch" argument if the person saying so has only seen the dub. "Ya ran out of ink too, didn't ya, ya bastards!". The only reason we hear about it is because pron importers aren't interested in normal, tasteful, and in some cases actually heartwarming material (yes, I have watched one yuri clip that had only one, very mild sex scene and was otherwise actually really sweet), although sadly it wasn't subbed so I couldn't understand a word), they're interested in "edgy" exotic stuff that will get perverts interested.Īlso, on a more worksafe note, has anyone else seen the hidden rant by Spike Spencer (in Shinji's voice) hidden on the Platinum Collection of Neon Genesis Evangelion, complaining about the ending? It is HILARIOUS. Now obviously there IS plenty of weird, rape orientated Hentai, but it's considered just as weird in Japan as it is over here. It isn't a forced sex fetish that most Hentai watchers have (although I'm sure many do) it's simply a desire to be able to go "awww, she's so cute and sweet and innocent, I just want to hug her!". The unfortunate downside is it can sound a little bit.forced. It sounds cute and innocent, and sounds a lot cuter than the standard "unff unff unff". ![]() This is simply because they're doing a rather sweet stereotypical "breathy moe" voice. Having seen actual pron involving Japanese actresses (I am a mere mortal) they do sound rather reluctant even when it is quite obvious that they are having the time of their lives (sporting a broad smile for example). The reason it often sounds.non consensual is simply a voice thing. Having watched a fair bit of Hentai (partly for a laugh and partly out of sheer boredom) I can say that the vast majority of it is moreorless just normal pron, but in animated form. ![]() Female japanese basically sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me lol I'm sure that's just how some languages sound to different cultures ![]() Whenever female characters talk it almost always sounds the same and sounds like they are being raped. But then again, japanese sounds very foreign and different to me.
